Brief Description of Duties: Incumbent loads and unloads heavy boxes, bulky supplies and materials to and from trucks, dollies, etc. Operates hand lawnmowers or powered lawnmowers. Performs edging and trimming where required, using hand, electric and/or battery powered equipment. Clears small trees and bushes, using handsaw, hatchet or clipper. Sweeps grass clippings and trimmings from walkways, driveways and sidewalks. Empties grass trimmings and clippings in dumpster. Moves and arranges furniture as directed. Assists the maintenance supervisor with work involving, plumbing, electrical and carpentry requirements. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements: Manual skill is required in using necessary hand tools and in operating simple power equipment. Physical agility and ability to lift up to 45 pounds. Continual care must be exercised by the incumbent because of the nature of the tools and equipment used.
Conditions of Employment: Must be 18 years old. This position is subject to background check in accordance with federal regulations. Work performed outdoors occasionally in inclement weather. Indoor exposure to drafts, noise, dust and dirt and requires standing on concrete floors for long periods. Must wear issued protective gear.
